Ze Good Deed Number 4

Soooo todays good deed is to think up a good deed for tomorrow.  Just kidding…!  Actually it was for my children, to help them in any way possible to help them get better again.  I would do this anyway whether or not I told you about it here - it’s not something as parents that we have to think too hard about, it’s just something that we do.

Ze Good Deed Number 3

My excuse for not yet posting day 3 to 7  is that apparently I have been too busy to post, while still making the effort to keep those good deeds going.  Your probably rolling your eyes and thinking to yourself ’not more excuses…’  I won’t guarantee a post for tomorrow because look where that went last time, LOL.

Today I have decided I will do something for my husband being that he is a most important part of my life, mmm now let me think…  I think for our date night this evening we should watch a movie that is completely his choice.

Blogging about this is great as it keeps reminding me to think about what I might do for another person rather than them being absorbed into my everyday living.

Good Deed for the Day; Volume 1

I am doing terribly posting my good deeds aren’t I.  I will just have to start posting them from today, remind me tomorrow… LOL.

Anyway, the good deed for today was pausing for a moment to catch up with a friend for a coffee even though I knew my day was extremely full with things to get done.  The funny thing is that workwise I actually got through everything plus some even though I took some time out for friends and family!

What was your deed for the day?

The Week of Good Deeds

Do you ever go out of your way for someone?  Why not try to include some time in every day for at least one week some time where you will go completely out of your way for another person.  Maybe you could weave into this week a good deed toward a clients or workmates, maybe include your sister or brother, what about maybe a next door neighbour?  And don’t just focus on your best mates either.  Do it with a smile on your face and take special note of the gift that you receive back – the reaction from the other person!

I’m going to try and post each day for one week on a special thing that I have done, or that someone else has done for me and the reactions that are imprinted on my heart.

No time?  Make some time for those important things in your life, in your day!

Planning for the Years Ahead?

I’ve heard from a good many Business Entrepreneurs that December and January (especially January) are their quiet or slow months.  Maybe this is true for you as well.

For me and my business it has been the total opposite.  Things have really taken off in the last couple of months.  I think a big part of this might be that I have been doing a good lot of goal setting and planning for the year/s ahead.

This quote rings true in my life and business right now:

“Success isn’t a result of spontaneous combusion.  You must set yourself on fire.”  ~ Arnold H. Glasow

Maybe you have a quote that really speaks to you that you would like to share with us.

Setting Goals For The New Year

What are the things that are most important to you?

What is already working well in your life?

What is not working so well in your life?

Is there anything you might change to refine those areas in your life that don’t seem to be working as well as they could be?
Where do you hope to be at the end of 2009 and how might you go about achieving this?

What are your dreams over five years?

And make a goal for 2009 which might get you a step closer to your long-term dreams.

What were your Main Achievements for 2008?

It is good to think back to what we have achieved over the past year.  This helps us to get to know ourselves better, to work out what is really important in our lives and to set goals for the coming year.

The Act of Giving

Today I made a shopping list and checked it twice and then lost it in the first shop I was in – aargh!  Bet a couple of you guys and gals are sitting there nodding furiously thinking ‘Yes, I know that feeling oh so well!’  It was busy busy busy in the shops being that it is less than a week until Christmas.   Got most of it done I think and I’m excited about the gifts we have bought friends and family.  Pondering on the act of ‘giving’, I believe that it is important to give gifts to friends and family at Christmas time, but even more important is the gift of time that we are able to offer to them.  I don’t feel that we can buy love, friendship or happiness with a million dollar gift even… it’s the time that we spent with that person and the thought that we put into the gift that counts for more!

What happened yesterday?

What happened yesterday?  How about last week…, last month…, last year even?  I bet you have been served up a portion of both good and not so good experiences - you would be a fairly sheltered person to have only good experiences happen in your life.  Have you managed to get something out of these experiences?  Both good and bad experiences offer a new perspective that can be invaluable in shaping our lives, in moulding the person that we are to become.

What Networking Groups are you involved in?

I am curious as to what Business Networking Groups are available on the web and would like to encourage you to leave a comment at The Virtual Rave or here telling us about the groups you have found to be invaluable to you.  I’m hoping that this might offer links to a wide array of networking forums that business owner’s can then go and check out at their leisure.
